I live on the Northumberland Coast in the UK with my husband, two kids and our pet puppy - a whippet called Stella. I feel my homepage lacks the 'me' factor! I usually find tech platforms easy and I am sure sub-stack will feel like that too, but at the moment it is vast. I'd love to add more buttons to link to other work. I'd like to know how to organise what is highlighted and what is not, like how can I pop a picture of me with the dog in without a life story and add content with it being overwhelming.
I am happy with my growth since being here. I don't write primarily, I podcast atm to connect to my audience, women on the hop usually, who don't always 'prioritise' time to read. Once I can organise my site I have some moments in time I'd love to share. And I will set up an EFT tapping membership as I really do create transformation with the 3 decades I've spend resetting my own mindset. I have online courses and workshops as well as 1 to 1s and am a best kept secret! Most of all Claire I'd like to see what is possible and be inspired by someone lit up about substack!

Hi! I'm Ian. I've been on substack for about 18 months but only to subscribe to Lucy Werner. However, I've slowly drifted in and noticed that it is a really lovely community of people. I created my homepage (Hope is a strategy) a whole 2 days ago in preparation for this challenge so this is very timely and I've just added a logo in response to the day 1 challenge. Thanks!
Thanks Silvia! It is simply a re-work of the front cover of my book, but I really like it. I've found that my logos are really important to me as I smile whenever I look at them!

One of my goals for June is to write a hero post so this challenge feels like it came along at the right time! I mostly read on the app, and am still not sure whether to call my Substack a blog, newsletter, publication or something else entirely.
Hi Claire. I've been posting since June of 2024 and am interested to learn what you feel is the most effective way to set up the Home Page. Like me, my page shellewrites.substack.com has posts on the facets of my life. I began by introducing myself and telling the story of how I was led into professions which were once very unusual and now very popular. It's been a magical journey. Astrology, Bach Flowers, Aromatherapy, Energy Work, Educator, Interfaith Reverend...and writing what some call 'channeled' and I call 'inspired' novels and poems.
It seems I was born into a "normal" family but my path was to be an adventurer into other methods and beliefs. With a Moon Uranus conjunction in Gemini in my public life, I am a Messenger.
And that's why I love Substack. I can deliver a message on many topics and current events that inspire me. I can give information on astrology and aromatherapy and more.
I wonder if that is a problem but if I didn't do that I don't think I would truly be myself. Looking foward to your input!
Hi Claire! I’ve come to appreciate my homepage and not look at it too often because I get bored and then want to change it. But, something I’m not sure about is when I turned my auto-paywall back on, I created a free section because I didn’t want new people confronted by the paywall right away. But now I’m wondering if I should be highlighting paid stuff right out the gate?
Hmmm - what are your goals - nurturing or converting to paid quicker...? On that, do people convert to paid when they first find you? Home page looks good - could do with your lovely face and take the leaderboard off as waste of real estate up on the nav bar.
I’m a complete Substack newbie, so I made a Substack but haven’t created my homepage or any posts yet. I’m a somewhat burned out author of sweet romance and mysteries for kids (20 books) who wants to do something completely different and unrelated to the author world. I think it will be a happy place about food and other things. I live in Nashville with my husband and calico cat.
